The Town of Cornelius has expanded its Veterans Day activities to include a family event prior to our traditional program.

Veterans Day Celebration at the Veterans Monument at Rotary Plaza

Join the Town of Cornelius and American Legion Post 86 for our annual Veterans Day Program at the Cornelius Veterans Monument at Rotary Plaza and the Cornelius Town Hall lawn on Friday, November 11 at 11 a.m. This program honors military veterans and those currently serving in our Armed Forces.

American Legion Post 86 Commander Mike Puckett will lead a ceremony that will include a welcome from Cornelius Mayor Chuck Travis, twenty-one gun salute by American Legion Post 86, patriotic songs by W.A. Hough High School Concert Choir, and special performances by country music artist and Army veteran, Rockie Lynne.

Veterans Day Open House at The Cornelius Arts Center


The Cornelius Arts Center invites you and your family to celebrate Veterans Day morning with them by making thank you cards, patriotic arts & crafts, and cookie decorating.  Light refreshments will be provided.  These free activities begin at 9 a.m. and will take place prior to the Veterans Day Celebration at Cornelius Town Hall.
