Cornelius-Davidson Youth Basketball League

Cornelius Parks & Recreation (CPRD) and Davidson Parks & Recreation Department (DPRD) are looking forward to Cornelius-Davidson Youth Basketball and the 25th year of league play! We are expecting more than 800 children to take part this season. 

With so many details and so much information pertaining to this league, we encourage you to carefully review all of the information below.

SIGN-UPS & SIGN-UP LOCATIONS

REGISTRATION:  Saturday, October 1 - Friday, November 11*, or until full. 
*Registration after November 11 will only be accepted if space allows and will be subject to a $35.00 late registration fee.*

PRIORITY REGISTRATION:
Only Cornelius and Davidson residents will be allowed to register Saturday, October 1, through Friday, October 7. Registration will open to residents of all towns on Saturday, October 8.

Registration opens October 1 for Cornelius and Davidson residents and October 8 for everyone!

You may register online 24/7 or in person at CPRD office located on the 2nd floor of Cornelius Town Hall or DPRD office, Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. If you wish to register by mail, download a registration form  for Youth Basketball.  Please make all checks payable to: Town of Cornelius. 

Each player’s fee includes a reversible jersey. 

LEAGUE DESCRIPTION

 - Please note: Based on registration any divisions may be combined or modified in order to provide enough teams for league play.  League rules/draft rules may be subject to change based upon participation and/or any division modifications in the league. These decisions will be made and communicated to participants as soon as possible, giving the opportunity to receive the maximum refund that our refund policy allows at that time.

*A $35 late registration fee, per player, with the exception of the Instructional Division, will be applied to all registrations after Friday, November 11, unless registering players are put on a waiting list on or prior to that date.
 

SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarship opportunities are available on a limited basis for Cornelius & Davidson residents only and are typically aligned with the CMS Free & Reduced Lunch guidelines. To apply for a scholarship, you will need to complete a scholarship application form and produce a copy of your CMS lunch assistance approval letter (other proof of need may be considered). Please call or email us with any questions.

REFUND POLICY

In the event that a child cannot participate in the program once registered, the refund policy is as follows: 
  • 90% refund will be issued when requested by Wednesday, October 26  
  • 75% refund will be issued when requested by Monday, November 14
  • 50% refund will be issued when requested by Wednesday, November 23
  • Beginning Thursday, November 24, no refunds will be given. Please allow 30 days for refund processing. 
  • Special Notes Regarding Refunds: 
    • Is your child planning to try out for a school team? We suggest that you go ahead and register with us to make sure you have a space reserved in our league! If he/she makes the school team, we will issue a 100% refund if notice is given prior to Friday, November 18. Also, if your child makes his or her school team, we ask that you consider a program refund in lieu of playing both school ball and rec ball this season, which will allow participants whose only option is recreational basketball an opportunity to play.

    • Special requests made regarding team assignments, practice night preferences, etc., are NOT guaranteed. Our refund policy remains in place, regardless of whether or not your special request was accommodated.
