Master Plan Listening Sessions

The Town of Cornelius Parks and Recreation Department cordially invites residents to provide input on park and greenway needs. A new plan will identify current and emerging needs and allow the Town to refine and develop its parks and greenways to help meet those needs over the next several years. Additionally, it will provide the Town with a competitive advantage when applying for grants.  Please feel free to attend any of our listening sessions.

Sessions 1 & 2 Results

The results are in from the first two sessions held on September 7, with half of the participants zeroing in on new biking and pedestrian projects and improvements to existing ones. About a third prioritized the acquisition and preservation of open or passive recreation space. The remaining priorities identified active recreation needs including water access and multi-purpose athletic fields. View the full results here. Don't see your priorities listed? Surveys

In addition to these workshops, we will conduct two surveys. The first will be a formal, scientific study, so be on the lookout for that coming to selected households in the mail. In November, an online survey will be open to the general public.
