What do you know about Cornelius' history? Are there ghosts hanging around town? Find out this Sunday at 5:00 pm on the Historic Preservation Commission's guided walking tour of historic Cornelius.
The Cornelius Historic Preservation Commission will conduct a guided walking tour, South of Catawba with Ghostly Tales, on Sunday, October 27 at 5:00 PM.
The starting point for this tour, which is approximately 1.25 miles, is in front of Town Hall (21445 Catawba Avenue). Along the way you will learn about when and how the Town was incorporated, walk by Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and its cemetery, see local historic landmark designations, Olde Mill Village, Gem Yarn Mill, our Town's remaining cotton gin, the history of Cornelius Elementary and other sites of interest.
This tour is appropriate for all ages and will last approximately 1 ½ - 2 hours.
