On Thursday, December 12, 2013, at approximately 2:33am, Cornelius Police received a call from a resident at the One Norman Apartments in reference to two suspicious subjects breaking into cars. Upon arrival, officers located Samuel Glen Chapman (DOB 11/07/1992) and Mark Richard Wells (DOB 10/04/1989) in the parking lot of One Norman Apartments. The suspects were detained while officers continued to investigate the scene. Officers checked a white Ford truck registered to Mr. Wells and located several items inside the interior and the bed of the truck. After speaking with victims, officers searched Mr. Chapman and Mr. Wells and located items that were reported stolen.
Samuel Chapman and Mark Wells were arrested and each charged with three (3) counts of Felony Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle, one (1) count of Felony Larceny and four (4) counts of Misdemeanor Larceny. They were transported to the Mecklenburg County Jail and both released on a $14,000 bond.
