Mecklenburg County, in coordination with its participating municipal jurisdictions, is preparing an update to its 2010 Hazard Mitigation Plan. The updated plan will identify local policies and actions for reducing risk and future losses from natural hazards such as floods, winter storms, tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, and hurricanes and tropical storms. The public is invited and encouraged to attend a public meeting on Thursday, November 20 to learn about and provide comment on Mecklenburg County's plans for hazard mitigation. The meeting will be 5:30 - 7:30 PM at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center, 600 East Fourth Street - Room 280 in Charlotte. You are also encouraged to share your opinions and participate in the mitigation planning process by completing an online survey.
