On Monday, Sept 18, 2017, Officer Patrick Maldarelli was awarded his Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate from the N.C. Department of Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.

Maldarelli graduated from Basic Law Enforcement Training with December 2007 from Mitchell Community College. He was hired as a Patrol Officer at the Cornelius Police Department in March 2008 and became a Field Training Officer in 2010. In 2016, Maldarelli was awarded an Intermediate Law Enforcement Certificate. Since August 2016, Officer Maldarelli has been the School Resource Officer and Bailey Middle School.
