[ARCHIVED] Cornelius Police and North Meck Crime Stoppers Recognize Cashion's Employees

Cashions Recognition 2.22.18

On February 22, 2018, Chief Bence Hoyle awarded Cashion's Quik Stop employees Anne Price and Mary Sharris with the Chief's Award of Recognition and a monetary reward from North Meck Crime Stoppers for their actions during a robbery last month.

On Wednesday, January 17 at around 12:35pm, Anne and Mary were working inside Cashion's Quik Stop on S. Main Street in Cornelius.  They were victims of a Strong-Armed Robbery, where cash was taken from the register.  During the robbery both employees were both pushed out of the way and suffered minor injuries.  Even in the face of danger, they were able to chase the suspect from the store obtaining a partial license plate from the vehicle used to get away. Within moments, the Cornelius Police Department was able to locate the suspect vehicle on cameras throughout town.

The description of the suspect provided by Anne and Mary was very descriptive and assisted in the arrest of the suspect within five hours.  Without the bravery and assistance of Anne and Mary, the Cornelius Police Department may have never been able to solve this case.
