On Tuesday, April 24, 2018 Detective Brad Nichols was named Employee of the Quarter for January to March 2018.
During the first quarter of 2018, Detective Nichols has gone above and beyond his duties as an officer and as a detective. Detective Nichols does not hesitate when you ask him for help, and patrol officers routinely seek him out for assistance with cases. Detective Nichols has a vast knowledge of case law and is always willing to share with others his opinions on cases. When new officers come to Criminal Investigations as part of their Field Training, Detective Nichols works patiently with them and is a great mentor to the new officers. Detective Nichols has played an integral role in helping organize the Cornelius Police Department Honor Guard, he assisted in the memorializing of Cornelius Fallen Officer Ralph White, and recently, he persistently worked a missing persons case locating the 17-year-old runaway in another state. Detective Nichols is a kind and humble man who does not brag or boast about what he has done for the department. He comes to work every day with a positive attitude, completing his duties with honesty and integrity.
